2/19/2023 - Nehalmen Bay, Nehalem Bay State Park, Nehalem, OR

Time: 2.83 hours Distance: 9.09 miles We put into Nehalem Bay from the boat ramp at Nehalem Bay State Park, paddled directly across the bay, down the edge past Wheeler, under the bridge up to Nehalem then returned around the other side making a loop around most of the bay. The day was overcast but there was no precipitation, fairly light winds and very few boats making for a pleasant trip. Lynda preparing to put in. 2/18/2023 - Trask River/Tillamook River, Carnahan Park, Tillamook, OR

Time: 2.9 hours Distance: 10.33 miles We put into the Trask River at Carnahan Park in Tillamook, paddled through the slough to connect to the Tillamook River then up-river for several miles. A light rain fell the entire trip but the winds were low and we encountered no other traffic. Lynda preparing to put in.  The Tillamook River. After beers at Public Coast Brewing in Cannon Beach.

2/4/2023 - Columbia Slough, Kelly Point Park, Portland, OR

Time: 3.03 hours Distance: 8.5 miles We put into the Columbia Slough from Kelly Point Park on a cool and intermittently rainy day. We paddled up the Slough and off on a side channel for a bit finally turning back about two hours in. On the way back we made a stop to scout a new put-in location. During the stop Dane's kayak got bumped, slide down a pathway an out into the water. Lynda had a great time trying to retrieve it. Lynda preparing to put in. Lynda paddling up the Slough. 1/28/2023 - Columbia River, Collin's Beach, Sauvie Island, OR

Time: 3/13 hours Distance: 9.99 miles We put into the Columbia River at Collin's Beach on Sauvie Island and paddled up-river for about five miles before turning back. The river was the calmest we'd ever seen. It was almost glassy and the paddling was extremely smooth for most of the trip. We only encountered a couple boats on the way back, the wind was never more than a light breeze and we escaped all rain. A nice winter paddle. Lynda preparing to put in. 1/22/2023 - Willamette River, Stevens Point, Portland, OR

Time: 2.97 hours Distance: 10.01 miles   We put into the Willamette River at Stevens Point and paddled up-river to Oswego Landing before turning back. The day was cool with highs in the low 40's but the wind was light, there was no rain and the river was almost empty of traffic making for a pleasant paddle.   Lynda preparing to put in. 1/14/2023 - Multnomah Channel, St Helens, OR

Time: 2.78 hours Distance: 8.83 miles   We put in at St. Helens public dock and headed up Multnomah Channel to where it meets Scappoose Bay then onto a long slough through the end of Sauvie Island. Rain started almost the moment we got in the water and it continued throughout the trip finally stopping just before we got out. However, the winds were very light, the water was totally calm and we encountered very few boats.    Lynda preparing to put in. The Channel just after leaving St. Helens. 12/16/2022 - Willamette River, Hebb Park, Web Linn, OR

Time: 2.97 hours Distance: 9.77 miles We put into the Willamette River at Hebb Park and paddled up-river just past the I5 bridge to the railroad bridge. The day was cool but bright an sunny, with little wind and absolutely no rive traffic. An absolutely glorious winter paddle. Lynda preparing to put in. Lynda paddling up-river. 12/10/2022 - East Fork of Lewis River, Paradise Point Park, WA

Time: 3.08 hours Distance: 10.35 miles We put into the East Form of the Lewis River from Paradise Point Park and paddled up-river approximately five miles before turning back. The day was cool with temperatures in the low 40's and we got a fair amount of rain early in the trip though it stopped after about an hour. The trip was quiet with no other river traffic and the winds were light so after the early heavy rain the paddle was very pleasant. Lynda preparing to put in. Lynda paddling up-river.
