Dane and Lynda Kayak

Time: 2.78 hours Distance: 9.04 miles We put into the Willamette River from Stevens Point, paddled down river then around Ross Island. Into the Ross Island lagoon where we saw dozens of 2-3 fish jumping out of the water, then back up-river for some distance before returning to Stevens Point. There were quite a few boat on the river but we avoided most of the rain until the final couple minutes before we got out. All in all a decent winter paddle. Lynda preparing to put in. Time: 2.7 hours Distance: 9.23 miles We put into Lake River at the Ridgefield Kayak Launch, paddled down-river to Bachelor Island Slough, up-river on the Slough to the Columbia River, down-river on the Columbia back to Lake River then back up-river to the original put-in. The day was clear, sunny and warm with very light winds and little traffic on the water. We saw well in excess of a dozen Sea Lions on the Columbia and a number of Bald Eagles as well. Time: 2.8 hours Distance: 8.38 miles We put into the Tualatin River at the Kayak Launch under the Hwy 99 bridge in Tualatin, OR. The river was fairly high and flowing quickly and we paddled up-river for about two hours before turning back. It rained lightly on and off through the trip and the wind was blowing most of the time though we were a bit sheltered from it by the banks of the river. Lynda preparing to put in.
