Dane and Lynda Kayak

Time: 2.83 hours Distance: 9.26 miles We put into the Trask River at Carnahan Park in Tillamook, OR, paddled down-river then onto Dougherty Slough which we followed as far as we could. We then turned back and headed up Stillwell Slough again as far as we could before finally turning back and heading back to Carnahan Park. The tide was going out the entire trip and the last stretch on the Trask River was very slow going making for a tough final push. We had some drizzle in the first half-hour of the trip but then it stopped and we enjoyed dry conditions with little rain for the rest of the trip. Time: 2.65 hours Distance: 9 miles We put into the Nehalem River in Nehalem, OR and paddled up-river to the Necanicum Bridge before turning back. We encountered rain on an off through the trip and a bit a wind on our way back but no other river traffic which helped make for a good paddle. Lynda preparing to put in. Time: 2.87 hours Distance: 10.61 miles We put into the Columbia River at Louis Rasmussen Beach Park in Kalama, WA on a beautiful day. The sun was shinning and there was almost no wind. We paddled up-river, around Martin Island and back. Throughout the trip the sun was out, the wind was almost non-existent, the water was smooth and there was almost no river traffic.
