Time: 2.63 hours Distance: 9.15 miles   We put into the Columbia River Slough and paddled up-river for several miles before turning back. Pleasantly warm day with slight clouds and little wind. We saw only a couple other paddlers during the entire trip making for a quiet paddle.    Lynda preparing to put in.  A view of the Slough early in the trip.  Lynda paddling in the Slough.

5/24/2025 - Lake River/Columbia River, Ridgefield Boat Ramp, Ridgefield, WA

Image
Time: 2.72 hours Distance: 9.28 miles   We put into Lake River on a sunny warm day. We paddled down-river a short distance before going back up-river around the island to the Columbia then from there down-river to Lake River again and finally back up-river to our starting point. There were a few fishermen and some kayakers but the water was quite calm and we had only gentle breezes. A very pleasant trip.    Lynda preparing to put in.  One of several turtles we found sunning themselves on logs. A first.  The river entering the Columbia.  Lynda paddling along.  Lynda on the Columbia.

5/10/2025 - Multnomah Channel, St. Hellens, OR

Time: 2.87 hours Distance: 9.1 miles   We put into the end of Mulnomah Channel at St. Helens, paddled up-stream to a small slough at the west end of Sauvie Island then up the slough for a couple more miles. Dane had just replaced the foot pegs in his kayak and had put them in backwards so he had to make the entire trip without foot pegs (not good). Still the day was pleasant and other than a bunch of stationary boats fishing at the start of the trip there was no traffic at all.    Lynda preparing to put in. Lynda on the slough.
