3/13/2021 - Willamette River, Stevens Point, Portland, OR

Time: 3.17 hours
Distance: 9.86 miles

We put into the Willamette River at Stevens Point on a warm sunny day. For the first time since early last fall we skipped the suits and weather gear. There were quite a lot of fishermen and an occasional boat racing up the river but overall the paddle was calm and pleasant. We paddled up-river to Oswego Landing before turning back. We almost got swamped on the way back when we pulled up against a rocky wall to strip off a layer of clothes because we'd gotten hot in the sun. Just as we were finishing a boat raced by and kicked up a rather large swell. If we'd been 30 seconds later we'd both have probably taken a dip.
