Time: 3.08 hours Distance: 9.38 miles We put into the Multnomah Channel near the Northwestern end of Sauvie Island at the Gilbert Boat ramp on a cold and rainy day. We encountered intermittent rain for the first hour but then it stopped for the rest of the trip making the paddle unexpectedly pleasant. Lynda preparing to put in. Time: 3.17 hours Distance: 10.52 miles Our original plan was to put into the Tualatin River at Cook's Park but when we got there we discovered the park was closed to all non-pedestrian traffic. Lynda quickly found two additional places to put in, both also on the Tualatin but one turned out to be private and at the second we found the Tualatin was running very swift. We decided we didn't want to fight current all day so we settled on Boones Ferry Marina. It turned out well. The day was sunny and pleasant and river traffic was almost non-existent. Lynda preparing to put in. Lynda paddling up-river. The Willamette. Dane taking a short break. Lynda paddling down-river. The Willamette heading down-river. Railroad and I5 bridges near the end of the trip.

Time: 2.75 hours Distance: 9.06 miles We put into the East Fork of the Lewis River at Paradise Point Park on a cold, foggy late morning. We originally planned to paddle Yale Lake but when we got there the winds were gusting at 10-15 mph and the water was extremely rough so we turned back around and drove back to Paradise Point. The paddle was calm and pleasant and the fog eventually lifted to reveal a sunny afternoon. Lynda preparing to put in. Just starting up the East Fork of the Lewis River.
