Dane and Lynda Kayak

Time: 3.0 hours Distance: 9.6 miles We put into the Yamhill River at Dayton Landing County Park in Dayton, OR then paddled down-river until we hit the Willamette before turning back. We hadn't had much rain yet so the river was running very slowly and we only had a six minute difference between the trip out and the one back. The day was overcast with some sporadic drizzle and highs under 60 degrees F so this was our first day of the winter season in the suits.    Lynda preparing to put in. Lynda setting off down river. Time: 2.38 hours Distance: 8.11 miles We put into the Tualatin River at Brown's Ferry Park in Tualatin, OR and paddled down-river until we reached the dam before turning back. The day was overcast but reasonably warm and we managed to fit one last paddle in before the suits come out for winter. We had the river entirely to ourselves for most of the paddle making for a very pleasant trip. Lynda preparing to put in. A view from the river. The dam. Time: 3.03 hours Distance: 9.84 miles We put into the end of the Columbia Slough at Kelly Point Park, paddled the short distance to the Willamette River then up-river to the St. John's Bridge before turning back. We managed to find one more nice day before the rains start and temperatures were in the 70's with very light wind. There were a fair amount of boats on the river but the paddle was still largely pretty pleasant. Lynda preparing to put in. Lynda paddling up river. Stopped for a short break on the way back.
