6/10/2023 - Lake Merwin, Speelyai Park, WA

Distance: 11.19 miles

We put into Lake Merwin at Speelyai Park on a beautiful day. Initially it was sunny with light wind and little traffic. We paddled along the shore west until we reached Jim Creek then went up the creek as far as we could before turning back. When we got back to the lake we found that the wind had picked up and we had to fight rough waters all the way back with swells sometimes as high as 2'. A rough trip back made for two tired paddlers.
