Time: 2.75 hrs Distance: 8 miles Back to Nehalem Bay on an unseasonably warm and calm day. We put in at Nehalem Bay State Park and paddled first South to where the bay meets the Pacific. Just after the start of the jetti we parked the kayaks and walked up the last of the beach. We got back in, paddled back to the park and then set off East along the bay's North shoreline. When we reached the far Eastern most point we headed straight back into the sun. Lynda preparing to put in. Lynda on the small beach next to the start of the jetti. She quickly found a whole small sand dollar and in less than 10 minutes found a hoard. Lynda heading back toward Nehalem Bay Start Park. Lynda below a huge sand hill our kids like to play on when they were young. Coming back into the sun.

Time: 2.9 Distance: 9 miles We put in at Speelyai Park and paddled East until the reservoir became a small river. We were hoping to reach the damn at Yale Reservoir but were blocked. We then turned and went the short distance we could up Canyon Creek before turning back. We started seeing Bald Eagles almost immediately after the Yale bridge and they followed us into and out of their area. It was a truly incredible day. Lynda preparing to put in. Lynda paddling across the reservoir in the weather. Lynda paddling past a 60 foot rock face just before we started seeing Bald Eagles. Dane approaching a small waterfall. Blocked. The Yale damn is just barely out of view. Where Canyon Creek finally turned us back.
