9/28/2019 - Willamette River, Cathedral Park, Portland, OR

Time: 3.3 hours Distance: 11 miles Another beautiful fall day sandwiched between days of rain. We put in at Cathedral Park again and paddled down the Willamette until we were directly across the dike road from the Grande's farm. We hit a fair amount of wind which made the trip out tough but on the trip back we were treated to a great boost from the wind generated waves. Lynda preparing to put in. A barge passed us on the way back. Dane under the Sauvie Island Bridge. After beers and munchies at Deep Space Brewing.

Time: 3.5 hours Distance: 10.8 miles We put into the Willamette at Willamette Park in West Linn on a beautiful day. The paddle was really nice (very light river traffic) and the small islands about a mile upriver offered some really unique kayaking. Lynda preparing to put in. Lynda navigating through a channel in one of the islands. Lynda on the Willamette. After beers and fried pretzel cheese curds at Fly Boy Brewing.

Time: 3.25 hours Distance: 10.3 miles Our second trip to the Lewis and Clark River. We left Portland for Astoria Sunday afternoon, spent some time scouting future kayaking locations and ate at Buoy Beer Company that night. Monday we once again put in at Netul Landing and paddled upriver. This trip we timed the tide so that it was rising our entire paddle. The weather had been rainy for days but we once again got lucky and the sun was shinning the entire trip. This trip we paddled as far upriver as we could before it became too shallow to continue. Lynda scouting a future put in on our way to Astoria the day before the paddle. Beers at Buoy the night before the paddle. Time: 3.5 hours Distance: 11 miles A sunny day on a new piece of the Willamette River. We put in at Rogers Landing County Park and paddled up river to the Yamhill River which we explored for about a mile. It was a beautiful day but the river was very crowed with speed boats so there was substantial swell all along the Willamette. Lynda on the Willamette. Dane on the Willamette. A small side slue. Lynda coming back in. After beers at Chehalem Valley Brewing.
