Dane and Lynda Kayak

Time: 2.5 hours Distance: 7.7 miles A quick trip back to the Tualatin river on a Monday evening after work. We put in at the Farmington Bridge and again tried heading up river first. The block we'd encountered the previous trip on the Tualatin was still there but someone had cleared just enough away to allow us to drag our kayaks through. Time: 2.75 hours Distance: 9 miles Another beautiful summer day in Portland. We put in under the St. John's bridge and paddled down river to just about where the Willamette meets the Columbia. Time: 3.1 hours Distance: 9.6 miles We put in at around 10:00 AM on a beautiful day. The lake was calm and there were very few boats. By the time we started back the winds picked up substantially and we were paddling in rough waters. Lynda putting in. Lynda battling the waves on the way back in. Lynda pulls into the landing.

Time: 2.9 hours Distance: 7.4 miles We put into the Willamette an started up river. Within about a mile heavy current stopped further progress. We went back down-river and tried a small tributary but ran out of navigable water very shortly. We finally just headed down-river on the Willamette again and ended up having a good paddle.
