9/24/2018 - Columbia Slough, Portland, OR
Time: 2.7 hours
Distance: 8.5 miles
Our first trip down the Columbia Slough. It was a good trip but you're always aware that the city is right around you. Noise from trains, cars and airplanes is constant. We went when the tide was low so the sides of the slough was several feet of mud but the paddling was easy and the sun was shinning (most of the time) so it was a pleasant day.
Lynda getting ready to put-in
The bridge where we turned around
Lynda approaching our turn-around point
Dane just after turning around
Lynda coming to the end of our trip
